Day 4 of #boutofbooks is book spine poetry.
#BookSpinePoetryBoB
I’m kind of terrible at it.
Once Upon a Zombie Gemina
Glimpse a Beautiful Stranger
Bad Romeo
Stealing Snow the Glass Sword
From The Glitter Court
It would make an interesting book.

Read the stories in this book, then make them your own, and on some dark and icy winter’s evening, or on a summer night when the sun will not set, tell your friends what happened when Thor’s hammer was stolen, or How Odin obtained the mead of poetry for the gods.
Buy a bunch of books without looking at their covers; bucket list item crossed. Cheesy romance, british poetry, mystery-thrillers….and a book about danish fishing history. A good day!

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon is still sitting on my shelf, just waiting for me to start it… and hopefully I will have time to do so before it’s due back at the library. ☺️

Have you read this book?? What did you think of it??

whats the worst book you’ve had to read for school
I’m a teacher and this thread is oddly giving me life.
My worsts? The Sun Also Rises, Huckleberry Finn, When the Legends Die, The Scarlet Letter, The Great Gatsby, and any colonial poetry.
Ethan Frome, Johnny Tremain, and To Kill a Mockingbird.
And I’m pretty sure they don’t even assign the first two in schools anymore. My children have never had to read it at least and that’s all I’m basing that on - but we have lived in 3 different states across the country during their school years and not one of their schools have assigned them.
We have copies and copies of Johnny Tremain in our book room and library from decade(s) ago. Don’t worry, we don’t read it.
Although TKAM was required reading this year. Don’t worry, I showed the movie instead and we only read selected chapters. Who knew that a damn six year-old could be so long-winded? (Yes I realize it was her older self narrating, but that doesn’t mean I have to give a shit about her drug-addicted neighbor.)
What *are* your kids’ required readings, if you don’t mind me asking?
